Wilmington-area home sales surged in February compared with a year earlier, the Wilmington Regional Association of Realtors reported Tuesday.
Home sales rose 31.6 percent, to 358 last month from 272 in February 2011, the Realtors said.
It was the strongest February since 2008, according to Realtor statistics.
The average price of a home sold last month rose to $222,392 from $198,433 a year earlier.
